Forever Platformer Engine
The Forever Engine has been very much a labour of love for some time!
Having worked on my own platformers for a long time now I wanted to make my dream platformer, making full use of object-oriented design and XNA's graphical capabilities. I want to make an imaginative, fresh and dramatic platform experience.
The project currently contains various camera styles, an event management system that can give commands to the AI-controlled camera, generate text alerts, spawn enemies, and a Sonic-style physics system.
These features will allow for exciting set pieces and make it easier to make the game vibrant and dramatic.
The object management is also more developed than in my previous projects, so that adding new player characters with new gameplays styles should be as easy as possible. The code structure also makes it easy to switch between AI and player control.
In the near future, I plan to add a level editor, and then use this to develop the dream platformer itself.
